Can you list the Seven Wonders of the World? Not many people can. This might be because, of all of them, only one remains today. The rest were destroyed due to disasters like earthquakes or fires. The remaining, and also oldest, Wonder of the World is the Great Pyramid of Giza. It still stands in Cairo, Egypt. It was constructed about 4,500 years ago. The pyramid took 20 years to build. It is estimated that about 100,000 workers were used. It is still not known exactly how the Egyptians built the pyramid. It stands 450 feet tall. The limestone, basalt, and granite blocks are very heavy. Without modern machinery, the construction must have been difficult. For thousands of years, it was the tallest building in the world. It is thought that it used to be covered with white limestone. It would have shone in the sunlight from miles away. Thousands of people from all over the world travel to Cairo, Egypt, to see this marvelous and only remaining Wonder of the World.
