Veronica tossed and turned. She was uncomfortable. The air conditioner in her hotel room sounded like an airplane engine. She tried turning it off, but then it got too hot. She could feel lumps in her mattress. A street sign blinked in her window. "This sure is a bargain," she thought. "My company is so cheap." The nice hotel the others were in didn't help either. "I need a new job," she thought. But therein lay the real issue keeping her awake. She feared change. She didn't want to make a decision that could hurt her career. She buried her face in her pillow. Sleep wasn't going to come easily.
