If you want to make sure you have clean, healthy teeth, you need to brush and floss, but there are other things you can do too. First, replace your toothbrush every three or four months. Toothbrushes wear out, and a worn toothbrush will not clean your teeth very well. Second, eat regular meals and try not to snack on sugary foods. Every time you eat, the food causes your mouth to produce acids, which leads to decay. So if you're snacking constantly, it will be a lot harder on your mouth and teeth than if you eat regular meals. If you really want a snack, think healthy. Carrot sticks, apples, cheese, or plain yogurt are much better options than candy bars or cookies. Your teeth and mouth will thank you, and others will notice your clean breath. Finally, don't forget to visit a dentist regularly. He or she will give your teeth a good, professional cleaning twice a year to keep your teeth clean and your breath fresh.
