You've probably heard about the Loch Ness monster. But do you know where it lives and how long it's lived there? The "monster", nicknamed Nessie, is thought to live in a lake in northern Scotland. The legend of the Loch Ness monster is thought to have started over 2,000 years ago. The famous sighting occurred in the 1930s. Someone took a picture of Nessie. Today it is believed this picture was fake. It is possible that the "monster" was just a toy boat in the lake. Since this questionable photo, there have been many other photos taken. There are at least 10,000 sightings recorded. All these people claim they saw the creature in the lake. Today, people travel from all over the world to try to get a glimpse of Nessie. Maybe someday you, too, will travel to Scotland to in search of the great lake monster.
