Walt Disney was a famous filmmaker. He made the cartoon character, Mickey Mouse. He also made the characters Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. The characters were very important in the history of animated films. Mickey's first film was called "Steamboat Willie." It was the first Disney cartoon to have sound. Walt Disney did Mickey's voice. It was a big success. Disney received a special Academy Award in 1932 for making Mickey Mouse. His movie, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," was the first cartoon film in English and in color. In the 1940s, Disney had a plan to make Disneyland. Disneyland is a large amusement park in California. People from around the world come to visit it.
