Marsha had a big problem. She could not match her socks. She could tell the difference between one color sock and the next. She noticed the slightest differences in pattern. Some were striped. Some were argyle. Yes, Marsha knew all of that. Her trouble lay in choosing. Her trouble was deciding which sock she preferred over the other. Each morning, she opened the top drawer of her dresser. Each sock seemed to call to her. The striped ones even seemed to form mouths. They looked like purple, pink, and red mouths. They curled their lips. She thought she heard them call out her name. Marsha loved her socks. She couldn't understand how anyone could pick just one color to wear.
