The Great Lakes are all around Michigan. The Great Lakes are five big lakes between the U.S. and Canada. The peninsulas are connected by a big bridge. It is a suspension bridge called the Mackinac Bridge. It is the third longest suspension bridge in the world. There is a lot of water around Michigan. Many people own boats in Michigan. In the winter, people in Michigan go ice fishing. They cut holes in the ice. Then they catch the fish that swim near the holes.
