Mark had a really loud voice that carried far distances when he spoke. This often got him in trouble at school when the teacher gave them individual work. Individual work was supposed to be done alone. The problem with Mark was that he loved to talk to people all the time. He would start talking to his classmates during individual work time, and the teacher would get upset. She wrote a note home to his mom telling her that Mark's voice disturbed others and kept them from doing their work. Mark tried to keep his thoughts to himself, but they kept spilling out. When the school play came, the teacher was looking for a narrator. She needed someone who wasn't afraid to get up in front of people and talk. She knew Mark would be the obvious choice. Mark was so excited when the teacher picked him to be the narrator.
