They must find the water without being eaten by a bigger animal. The sea turtle starts life small, but it may grow to be very big. One kind of sea turtle might weigh as much as 1300 pounds when it is grown. With their large flippers, the sea turtles move much easier in the water than on land. It is not surprising that they almost never leave the ocean.
