Cats

This passage is about a cat that has anxiety about doors opening and closing.

Categories: Animals & Nature

The cat could not decide whether an open door was better than a closed door. A door opened, and she yowled. A door shut, and she yowled and scratched. If the door was open but blocked by a chair, human, or bed, she yowled, scratched, and growled. The cat found doors troublesome because they represented both mystery and peril. Once closed, it was impossible to know just exactly what was happening on the other side. But an open door could allow nearly anything in, even her enemy. Her enemy was a cruel, orange tabby with longer claws than hers. She stood in front of a half-open door and growled. The enemy approached. Her owner shut the door, and the cat purred.
