Craig walked inside the fire station. Just for today, it had been transformed into a political chamber with various candidate signs staked in the ground outside and political posters hung in the windows. It was Election Day, and Craig was finally old enough to vote. He was more excited than he had anticipated. He was looking forward to the chance to exercise his right to participate in this long-standing tradition. Inside, the greeters instructed Craig to sign in and showed him the voting booths. Once inside the booth, he was amazed at how many different offices there were to vote for. The President and the governor were far from the only ones on the ballot! He marked his choices and submitted his ballot. When he emerged from the booth, the greeters shook his hand and congratulated him on participating in this democratic process. Craig smiled and was proud to be an American citizen.
