Ginger rolled down the car windows and could already smell the salt in the air. Her family was heading to the beach for their annual vacation. It was her favorite week of the year. The days would go by slowly. In the mornings, she would go to the beach, stretch out her towel, and get some sun. Then she would spend some time swimming in the ocean. In the afternoons, she would lounge around, read a book, or possibly do some shopping. At dinnertime, she would help her mother cook. At least one night during the week they would prepare Ginger's favorite, boiled shrimp. After dinner was over and the dishes were done, Ginger's dad would bring out his old guitar and play some familiar songs before everyone would go to bed. Ginger always looked forward to this vacation, and now that they were almost there, she could hardly wait for tomorrow.
