These local elections may decide key issues. Sometimes citizens think that their vote is not important. That is not true. In 1960, John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon were running for the office of president. The race turned out to be very close. John F. Kennedy won. However, if Richard Nixon had had just one more vote in every precinct in the country, he would have won. Local and state elections may also be decided by just a few votes.
