The snowy night was lit up by streetlights, and sled after sled went down the hill quicker than anyone had ever flown. Round sleds, rectangular sleds, and railed sleds flew down one after another. Parents, kids, and even grandparents were out to watch the spectacle. Dogs ran after the sleds, barking and sliding down the hill. Finally it was my turn. I clutched the two sides of the sled and set my aim. With a running start and a hop on my sled, I was on my way. I flew past mailboxes and people walking back up the hill. I flew past house after house, trying to keep the sled straight. I was going faster than I had hoped and laughing out loud.
