Peter looked out the living window for the last time. Everything was packed. All the furniture had been taken away by the movers. He looked out at the tree he liked to climb. He looked across the street at his best friend Jake's house. He had told his parents many times that he didn't want to move. They had to, however, because his dad's company was moving to another city. Peter suggested that maybe his dad could just get a different job. His parents laughed. They said that it wasn't so easy. Peter picked up his backpack. He took a long, last look around the house. He would miss so many things. He walked slowly out to the car. His dad was putting things in the trunk. His mom came out carrying a cooler. It was full of sandwiches and drinks for the long ride. As they all got in the car, Peter's dad said, "We're off on a new adventure."
