It was Sarah's birthday. She wanted a big party. She wanted all of her friends to come. She wanted her family to come too. She hoped it would be the best party they'd ever been to. She kept asking her mom who was coming to the party. But her mom wouldn't tell her. Sarah cleaned the living room to keep busy. After that, she cleaned the bathroom. She asked her mom if she could help frost the birthday cake. Her mom said no. She told Sarah to go upstairs and get ready for dinner. Sarah put on her favorite dress. It was green with small, blue flowers on it. She sat on her bed and waited. What if this was the worst party anyone had been to? What if no one came? Sarah's mom called her downstairs. She said she needed help setting the table for dinner. Sarah walked downstairs. She saw that her living room was filled with friends and family. She hadn't even heard them come in! They all shouted, "Surprise!" She knew this was going to be a wonderful party.
