Sea turtles are interesting animals. They have been around for a very long time. The first sea turtle lived 230 million years ago! Sea turtles can live to be 80 years old. They spend their time swimming. They love warm water. They like to eat jellyfish. They also eat seaweed, crabs, and shrimp. Mother sea turtles lay a lot of eggs. They lay 100 eggs at once. Sadly, many of the babies are eaten. Sharks and seagulls eat the eggs. Another danger to sea turtles is humans. Mother sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach. Some people leave trash on the beach. Mother turtles won't lay their eggs there. They get scared. They go back into the water. Be sure to clean up when you are at the beach. Then, look for sea turtles!
