Snow Day
Johnny pressed the snooze button on his alarm clock three times before he opened his eyes....
Marcus was excited. He had been looking forward to this trip to the amusement park for a long time. It was finally here. There were so many rides. He didn't know which one to try first. He knew the rollercoaster would be scary. He was glad that his best friend, Brian, was there. They would go on all the rides together. Marcus decided to be brave. First, he would ride the rollercoaster with the big loop in the middle. So Marcus and Brian ran up to the line. Marcus was nervous. Brian didn't understand why he was so jumpy. Marcus told him he had never been on a rollercoaster. Brian told him that it was great. He said that you feel like you're flying. Three more people got into the next car. Then, it was their turn to get in. Marcus got into the seat next to Brian. Large harnesses came down around their shoulders. The metal bar came down across their laps. The car started to move slowly up the hill. Marcus thought he was going to be sick. But Brian told him to close his eyes and scream on the way down. Marcus squeezed his eyes shut. The car began its descent.
