It is a difficult task to prove that something does not exist. Consider the legend of the Loch Ness monster. Modern scientists can observe the depths of the ocean with absolute clarity. However, no scientist has been able to capture conclusive evidence of the reported monster in a land-locked lake. Does this mean that reported sightings of "Nessie" by hundreds of individuals are inaccurate? What evidence could put to rest the theory that a large, unclassified amphibian lurks in the lake? A woodland version of an unidentified creature exists as well. Many people believe in the existence of Sasquatch. Sasquatch is supposedly a large, hair-covered creature that walks upright like a human. If such a species exists, why haven't we found skeletal remains from past generations? Thousands of people have hunted "Bigfoot" for decades, yet he remains uncaptured. Does this mean that Sasquatch does not exist? It is unlikely that the scientific community will ever be able to extinguish Sasquatch or the Loch Ness monster where they reside most certainly, which is in the minds of hundreds of devoted believers.
