There are many different ways you can get exercise. Playing sports is one way, but exercising doesn't have to be organized. You can get good exercise just by playing hide and seek or hopscotch. Riding your bike and swimming in the neighborhood pool are also good ways to exercise. Exercise is important because it keeps your body healthy by helping your muscles grow big and strong. One muscle in your body, the heart, really likes exercise. A stronger heart will do its job better, delivering oxygen and blood to your body. Exercise makes other muscles stronger too. As the muscles in your arms and legs grow stronger, you will be able to swing a baseball bat harder and run for a longer period of time. Not only will exercise make you strong, but activity also causes your brain to release chemicals called endorphins, which make you feel relaxed and happy.
