Zach and Tony stood beneath their tree house, listening closely. They thought they heard someone stirring above, and they were disappointed that their secret hideaway had already been discovered by outsiders. They had spent several weeks toting lumber deep into the woods, always careful to take a different route to their secret location to avoid creating a path that would give away the location of their structure. They had hung precariously from limbs as they positioned and then hammered in the joists and flooring for the tree house. They had taken great care to put the walls and roof in squarely to ensure that the house was rain tight. Today was to be the first day that they would be able to enjoy the tree house without working on further construction, yet someone else, maybe even several other people, seemed to have found their tree house and made themselves at home.
