Bodie blinked his eyes and sat up in bed. It was Saturday. The sun was shining. It was a perfect day for going to the zoo. Bodie was only four years old. He had never been to the zoo before. He was very excited about his first visit. He had seen lots of wild animals on TV but never in person. His mom and dad promised that they would spend the whole day at the zoo. Bodie was glad because he didn't want to miss a thing. He wanted to see the bears, the elephants, and the giraffes. He wanted to see the wolves and the chimpanzees. And he especially wanted to see the giant sloth. Bodie had seen a show about sloths on TV and thought they looked cute. He didn't believe any animal could really move that slowly. Today, he would see for himself.
