On December 5, 1945, five navy planes left Florida. Flight 19 was going on a patrol mission. A crew member stated that it looked like they were entering "white water." Flight 19 was never heard from again. Shortly after, a rescue plane went to look for Flight 19. After ten minutes, it also disappeared. Wreckage from the planes was never found. The Bermuda Triangle isn't on any map. The U.S. Board of Geographic Names doesn't recognize it. Still, the triangle formed by Florida, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico is very real to many people. They say the triangle is a mysterious place, a place where ships and planes disappear without a trace. The U.S. Coast Guard thinks differently. They say there isn't an exceptional number of disappearances in the area. Did Flight 19 get lost and run out of gas? Or did "white water" pull Flight 19 into the sea? You be the judge!
