In the United States, there are five main web address endings. These endings tell you where the information you want to read comes from. For example, ".edu" endings are on web addresses for schools and universities. The government uses the ending ".gov". Businesses use ".com". Non-profit organizations use ".org". Network providers use the ending ".net".
