From the kitchen window, Todd saw the mail truck pass his house. He grabbed his jacket and ran outside. He had mailed off his college applications months ago and was waiting to hear back from the schools. Most of Todd's friends had already received their acceptance letters, but Todd had not received anything. He opened the mailbox and quickly yanked out the letters. There was some junk mail, some bills for his parents, and, finally, one letter addressed to him. It was from the college he most wanted to attend. He quickly inspected the letter. He had heard that an acceptance letter was usually thicker than a normal letter, but this letter looked rather normal to him. There was only one way to find out his fate. He tore open the envelope and pulled out the letter. He saw the word "Congratulations" and knew he was college-bound.
