If you have watched television shows like "Animal Planet" or "National Geographic," you have probably seen herds of black-and-white striped zebras running across fields in Africa. These odd horse-like animals belong to the horse family and are native to Africa and are known for their black and white stripes. These strange little horses are not as fast as regular horses, but they can travel longer distances than a horse in just one day. The four species of zebra are the Plains Zebra, Cape Mountain Zebra, Hartmann's Mountain Zebra, and Grevy's Zebra. Some of these zebra species are endangered. Zebras live mostly in the wild, but some people have tried to use them as riding horses. You can teach a zebra to allow humans to ride horse-back, but zebras are feisty. So, zebra riders beware! You could be in for a very bumpy ride!
