Socrates liked to question things. He told people to ask questions. He encouraged people to think for themselves. Socrates had many students. His most famous student was Plato. Plato became a famous philosopher, too. Socrates did not write his ideas down. What we know of his ideas comes from Plato. Socrates sought to find wisdom. To him, knowledge led to the right decisions. Socrates' ideas became very influential. His ideas are still studied today. He is one of the most studied philosophers ever.
