Laronda could not wait until she got older. When she got older, she was going to get to drive her family's boat. Her brother, Travis, already got to drive the boat. When her dad wasn't looking, Travis would stick out his tongue at her. One night, Laronda dreamed that she was driving the boat. It skimmed across water that was as smooth as glass. But she woke up in her own bed with no boat. The only water was the glass of water her mother had left on the nightstand. The next week, her family went camping at the lake. Laronda gathered up sticks for a campfire. She heard her dad calling her name. He waved to her from the boat. He wanted her to drive. Laronda threw her sticks in a pile. She reached one hand over and pinched her other arm. She was really awake. She would really get to drive the boat.
