The state is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is the only state that is made up only of islands. It is more than 2,000 miles from the rest of the U.S. The capital of Hawaii is Honolulu. Hawaii is a popular place to visit. Hawaii has many volcanoes. Many people visit its volcanoes. Many people also visit its beautiful beaches. Surfing is a common pastime in Hawaii.
