Mickey's dad got in the car and put on his seatbelt. The seatbelt was a strap that Mickey's dad pulled down from near the car door and locked into place. It ran over his dad's chest. Mickey's dad told him to put on his seatbelt. Mickey wasn't sure how to do it. His dad showed him how to work the seatbelt. He pulled the seatbelt down. On the end of the seatbelt was a piece of metal with a hole in it. Mickey's dad fitted the piece of metal into a buckle near Mickey's seat. That locked the seatbelt into place. Then, Mickey had a seatbelt fitted across his chest and stomach just like his dad. The seatbelt was not too tight. It didn't hurt. Mickey's dad said seatbelts were important. He also said that Mickey should always wear a seatbelt in the car. His dad told him that seatbelts protected them. If they got into an accident, the seatbelt would keep them from hitting other parts of the car. Mickey decided it was a good idea to always wear a seatbelt.
