Some people call them the "Twin Cities." The Minneapolis baseball team is called the Twins. Minnesota is sometimes called the "Land of 10,000 Lakes." Minnesota actually has 11,842 lakes. It has more shoreline than any other state in the U.S. The rest of Minnesota is filled with farms and forests. Some of the lakes are part of the "Boundary Waters."
