Newspapers, soda cans, plastic, and glass can be recycled. They can be used again. Recycling helps in many ways. It keeps landfills, or places where trash is stored, from filling up. Recycling can save energy. It is easier to make new cans or new glasses from old ones than it is to make them from raw materials. Recycling also helps our environment. For example, reusing paper saves trees. Recycling reduces pollution. It makes our water and air cleaner. New jobs are created in areas where people recycle. Someone is put in charge of sorting and reusing the old cans and papers. If you want to recycle, there are a few rules. Rinse off cans, glass, and plastic. Separate glass by color. Most glass is divided into bins for clear, green, and brown glass. Crush cans to make room for more.
