Things were disappearing mysteriously in Kevin's house, and he was determined to get to the bottom of it. First, Kevin's mom complained that she couldn't find one of her earrings. Later, Kevin's dad said his cuff links were missing. Kevin figured that his mom and dad had probably just misplaced their things. But one day, his MP3 player was nowhere to be found. He knew he had left it on the kitchen counter next to the microwave. That was the last place his mom and dad saw their things, too. Kevin had a plan. He put a small bell on the counter one night and turned out the lights. When he heard the bell jingle, he turned on the lights and saw his cat, Whiskers pushing the bell behind the microwave. He moved the microwave and found his MP3 player, his dad's cufflinks, and his mom's earring.
