The first day of spring was Bonnie's favorite day. She looked at her calendar at the start of every year and started counting the days until spring. It was very cold in January where Bonnie lived, but that didn't stop her from thinking about the warm breezes to come. She loved looking at the calendar on a cold, snowy day and thinking about spring flowers. Bonnie would close her eyes and pretend that she was lying in her yard, surrounded by pretty flowers. She imagined the soft, green grass beneath her, and could almost smell all the fragrances of spring. It didn't even matter if the wind was howling outside her bedroom window, swirling snow onto the panes. Bonnie just closed her eyes tightly and imagined the sun shining through the trees. When spring finally did come, Bonnie would spend hours outside, thankful that her dreams had come true again.
