Lindsay stepped back and looked at the wall of the stairwell. She had just posted the last of the fliers for her campaign. Lindsay was running for student body president. She smiled with satisfaction. She felt that her posters looked attractive and professional. They were sure to get the attention of her classmates. Lindsay knew that this race would be a close one. There was a good chance that she would not win. But she was proud of herself just for running. This was a big step for Lindsay. She was usually shy and reserved. She didn't like to draw attention to herself. She thought that running for student government would be a way to force her out of her shell. And it was. She had met many new people. And she no longer felt nervous speaking in public. Lindsay knew that whatever the outcome of the election, she would not regret running for office.
