Madagascar is the name of an island country. It is the fourth largest island on the planet. It's located off the southeastern tip of Africa. Many different kinds of animals live there. Over 200,000 animal species live on this island. And about three-quarters of these species are only found on Madagascar. For instance, all lemur species are native to Madagascar. The pygmy mouse lemur is the smallest primate in the world. Almost all of the 300 kinds of frogs on Madagascar live nowhere else on the planet. The tomato frog is one of the strangest. It is fat and red like a tomato. It makes a sticky glue come out of its skin if a snake tries to eat it.
