You can eat them with a fork and spoon or simply purse your lips and slurp them up. Japanese noodles are delicious and fun to eat. There are four main varieties of Japanese noodles: udon, somen, ramen, and soba. Udon noodles are as thick as pencils. They are usually served in a clear broth with scallions and tempura shrimp or sliced pork. Somen and ramen noodles are similarly thin, but somen are straight, and ramen are curly. Somen are usually eaten cold, dipped in a separate bowl of mild broth. Ramen noodles are popular all over the world. Some packets or microwavable styrofoam cups of instant noodles contain ramen noodles. Soba noodles are made with a different wheat than the other three types. They can be eaten cold or hot and dipped with chopsticks into sauces or a soup. These are the slurpiest noodles. They are all tasty though.
