It was the coldest day of the year when Olin set out to break the record. He hadn't planned it that way, but he figured that as long as he had already made up his mind, he wasn't going to let freezing temperatures get in his way. After all, he figured, it's not every day that someone gets up the gumption to try something that crazy, so it would be even crazier to change his mind now. He called his friend Mike on the phone and told him what he was up to. Mike was sure Olin was crazy. Still, Mike wanted to be there if Olin did it, so he asked Olin to wait and hurried out the door. By the time Mike arrived at Olin's house, Olin was already in the backyard. Olin let out a whoop as he started somersaulting on the trampoline. Mike checked his watch; in five hours Olin would be the record holder.
