Riding a bike is a fun way to get some exercise and enjoy the fresh air. It's always a good idea to observe some safety precautions when riding your bike. For begin with, make sure your bike is in good mechanical condition. Loose handlebars, brakes that don't work, or a wobbly front tire will not only take the fun out of riding, but they pose safety hazards too. Another important part of safe riding is making sure your bike fits you. A seat that is positioned too high or too low makes riding uncomfortable and may make it hard to ride safely. The same thing goes for handlebars. Ask an adult or a bike shop employee for help if you can't make the adjustments yourself. One thing all safety experts agree on is the importance of wearing a helmet. A helmet that fits properly can help prevent serious head injuries.
